Opt-in for overdraft protection on your STCU debit card

Have you opted in for Privilege Pay overdraft protection on your STCU CheckCard (debit)? Do it today by signing and completing this simple opt-in form:

Here’s why we recommend you opt-in now:

• STCU's Privilege Pay does not automatically cover your debit card purchases, so if you happen to overdraft your account while trying to make a card purchase, your card will be denied. (Thankfully, that's not the case for STCU checking and ACH transactions, where Privilege Pay overdraft protection is automatic.)
• Bank regulations prohibit us from providing overdraft protection on your debit card UNLESS you first agree in writing to opt-in to Privilege Pay for your CheckCard (debit).
• Without Privilege Pay, your STCU debit card purchases online and at the checkout counter may be denied if your account ever gets low on funds. Without your consent in writing, STCU cannot cover you on a debit card overdraft no matter what situation you are in. 

It's embarrassing to have your card denied; it's even worse if you need money in an emergency. Please take time now to opt-in to STCU's Privilege Pay. It costs nothing to sign up!

1. Click here or on the "Never be denied" banner to print the opt-in form for debit cards.
2. Complete the opt-in consent form, indicating the accounts that need overdraft protection. (If you have more than one debit card, you'll need to opt in for each account fom which those debit cards draw funds.) 
3. Sign and return the form to us by mail or at any branch location.

By opting in to Privilege Pay, you ensure that you will never be denied a purchase for lack of funds in your account. Whether you are using your STCU CheckCard at the store, restaurant, online, or in an emergency, Privilege Pay has you covered up to $1,000.

There is no cost to sign up for Privilege Pay on your CheckCard, and you can cancel at any time. Remember that Privilege Pay only operates when there are insufficient funds available in your account(s) to cover your debit card transactions and all other lines of overdraft protection have been exhausted. The credit union charges $25 per overdraft to provide this service.
